It's a matter of preference.
Blood = die less, support with energy
Death = poison and damage using corpses, minions
You can use wilderness for traps and spirits to boost minions (fertile season, anyone?)
Marksmanship (if you want to use a bow --> not advisable since you can't use an offhand)
E/R has little use of the ranger skills, if anything. Maybe traps and beast mastery (if the pet dying =disabling your skills isn't annoying). Perhaps you can use bow, but like for any caster, you lose the 12 energy from the offhand.
This is not clearcut, just my opinions. It all depends what kind of build you want to play.
Just like a w/mo--> you can be a w/mo axe prot. or a w/mo sword self-healer or a w/mo hammer interrupt smiter. The class doesn't always determine the player style of playing
